In short: Kaeli is designed to store your grocery, shopping-list, recipe, and sharing data using Apple’s iCloud/CloudKit services. Kaeli does not use advertising or analytics SDKs. Kaeli uses third-party services to provide recipe search, image search, and subscription management.
1. Information Kaeli stores
Depending on how you use Kaeli, the app may store information such as:
- Products and grocery items in your inventory.
- Quantities, units, portions, expiration dates, estimated lifetimes, and related product information.
- Your shopping-list items and their status, including whether an item has been picked.
- Recipes and recipe-related information you save or use in Kaeli.
- Information necessary to support Kaeli’s sharing functionality.
- App settings and preferences necessary to provide the app’s functionality.
2. Where your Kaeli data is stored
Kaeli uses Apple’s CloudKit and iCloud services for cloud synchronization and sharing. Data associated with your private Kaeli database is stored in Apple’s CloudKit private database associated with your iCloud account.
When you use Kaeli’s sharing functionality, information you choose to share may be stored in CloudKit’s shared database and made available to the people with whom you share it. Only information you choose to share through the relevant sharing functionality is intended to be made available to those participants.
Kaeli may also use CloudKit’s public database for application-provided recipe/product information. This public application data is not intended to be used as a private storage area for your personal grocery inventory.
3. iCloud and Apple
Kaeli relies on Apple’s iCloud and CloudKit infrastructure for applicable cloud storage, synchronization, and sharing. Apple may process information according to Apple’s own terms and privacy policies. Kaeli does not control Apple’s independent processing of information.
4. Online recipe search
Kaeli Pro can search for recipes online using the Tasty recipe service accessed through RapidAPI. When you perform an online recipe search, your search request may be transmitted to the relevant service so that results can be returned.
Kaeli does not use your recipe searches for advertising or behavioral profiling. The availability, accuracy, content, and continued operation of third-party recipe services are outside Kaeli’s control.
5. Online image search
Kaeli Pro can search for images online using the Brave Search API. Search queries entered into Kaeli’s image-search functionality may be transmitted to Brave’s API to return search results.
Brave states that Search API queries are retained for a limited period for purposes including billing API customers and troubleshooting, and that Brave does not collect identifiers linking an API search query to an individual or device. Kaeli remains responsible for providing an appropriate notice concerning queries submitted through its API access.
6. Subscription and Kaeli Pro
Kaeli offers an optional paid subscription called Kaeli Pro. Kaeli Pro may be offered as monthly or yearly auto-renewable subscriptions and may include a 14-day introductory free trial where the applicable App Store product provides that offer.
Kaeli uses RevenueCat to help manage subscription status and entitlements. RevenueCat may receive information such as purchase history and technical information required to provide its subscription-management services. Kaeli does not receive or store your App Store payment-card details.
Payments and billing for App Store purchases are handled through Apple’s App Store and its payment systems. RevenueCat states that it does not collect users’ payment information and that purchase history is a data type relevant to its service.
7. Analytics, advertising, and tracking
Kaeli currently does not use third-party analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, or behavioral advertising/tracking systems.
Kaeli does not sell your personal information.
8. How we use information
Information processed by Kaeli and its service providers is used only as reasonably necessary to:
- Provide and synchronize Kaeli’s inventory, shopping-list, recipe, and sharing functionality.

- Maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the operation of Kaeli.
- Respond to support, privacy, or legal requests.
- Comply with applicable legal obligations.
9. Data sharing
Kaeli may share or transmit information to service providers when necessary to provide the functionality described in this policy, including:
- Apple / iCloud / CloudKit for cloud storage, synchronization, and sharing.
- RevenueCat for subscription management.
- RapidAPI / Tasty for online recipe searches.
- Brave Search API for online image searches.
Kaeli does not sell personal information to third parties and does not use these services for advertising on Kaeli’s behalf.
10. Third-party content
Online recipes, images, webpages, and other search results may originate from third parties. Kaeli does not claim ownership of third-party content merely because it is displayed or linked through the app. Your use of third-party content may be subject to the rights, licenses, and terms of the relevant content provider or publisher.
11. Data retention
Kaeli data stored in iCloud/CloudKit may remain available for as long as it is stored in your iCloud account or shared databases, subject to Apple’s systems and your actions. Local data may remain on your device until you delete it or remove Kaeli and its associated data according to the applicable Apple functionality.
Subscription-related information may be retained by RevenueCat and Apple for periods necessary to provide subscription services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and maintain business records, subject to their respective policies.
12. Deleting your data
You can delete data stored within Kaeli using the app’s available deletion functionality. Because Kaeli uses iCloud/CloudKit, additional copies or shared records may be subject to Apple’s CloudKit behavior and the sharing state of those records.
If you need assistance with a privacy request or believe information associated with Kaeli should be deleted, contact kaeliapp@outlook.com. Please describe the request sufficiently for us to identify the relevant issue. We will handle valid requests in accordance with applicable law.
13. Children
Kaeli is not specifically directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children for advertising or profiling purposes. If you believe a child has provided personal information to Kaeli in a manner that should be addressed, contact us at kaeliapp@outlook.com.
14. Security
Kaeli relies on Apple’s iCloud/CloudKit infrastructure and encrypted network communications provided by the platforms and services it uses. No method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
15. International processing
Kaeli’s third-party service providers may process information in countries other than the country in which you live. Those providers apply their own privacy and security practices, and processing may be subject to applicable international data-transfer requirements.
16. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when Kaeli’s functionality, services, or legal requirements change. The latest version will be published on this page with its updated date.
